Statement of Faith

We believe the Bible to be the infallible Word of God, the supreme and final authority for all faith and life.

We believe that there is one God, eternally existent:  Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

We believe in the Deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His vicarious and atoning death through His blood, His bodily resurrection, His ascension, and His imminent bodily return in power and glory.

We believe that man was created in the image of God but fell into sin and is therefore lost and only those who put their faith in Jesus Christ can be saved.

We believe that salvation is the gift of God brought to man by grace and received by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, whose substitutionary death on the cross paid the penalty for man’s sin.

We believe that the ministry of the Holy Spirit is to convict, indwell, guide, instruct, and empower the believer for godly living and service.

Practicalities Issuing from the Statement of Faith

Given DCCHE’s statement of faith, it is imperative that any activity pursued under the auspices of the organization must comply with that statement of faith. Practically speaking, activities such as sports, music, art, field trips, plays, parties, classes, enrichment opportunities, and any and all others as well as content found within each must not violate Scriptural guidelines as is found in the Holy Bible. The common interpretation of Scripture will be utilized. If there is a dispute, it will be taken to the DCCHE Board for determination

We are a group of people with differing beliefs on a variety of subjects. It is important to work together and be ready to defer to one another. It is better to err on the side of not doing something that some would like, than to err on the side of doing something that some would find offensive. Remember, there are many creative opportunities available to us homeschoolers. Let us choose to cooperate together in a spirit of love.
