Delta County Knights Athletics

Philosophies

We believe participation in athletics can play an important part in the physical and spiritual growth of home school students. It can teach the value of hard work, discipline, respect for others, and how to handle adversity all while honoring God.

It can contribute to good character development, good sportsmanship, and the development of God-given talents and abilities. We expect our student-athletes and coaches to work hard, enjoy the competition, respect each other and their opponents and honor Christ in all they do.

  • At ALL levels, Delta County Knights will be valued and will have a role to fulfill on a team.
  • The Delta County Knights will seek to compete at the highest levels possible.
  • We are committed to making decisions based on what is best for the  organization, the team, and the well-being of every player, and most  importantly, that which brings glory to God.

The coach may field the team in each game and over the course of the season that positions the team for the greatest opportunity to compete. The goal is to compete while allowing the team to develop player skills and knowledge of the game.

Younger teammates may or may not achieve game time.  Depending on the makeup of a team, which changes each year, younger students will be welcome at all team practices. In the case of insufficient players or the average age of the opposing team, the coach has the ability to field his/her team appropriately.

We expect a positive and encouraging atmosphere from all players whether on or off the court!

“And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ.”

Colossians 3:23-24
